Is Permanent Makeup Really Permanent? By Beauty Salon Hobart – Call Us On (03) 6223 3433
“Will it really last forever?”
That’s usually one of the first questions our clients ask about the application of permanent makeup.
When ink is tattooed onto your skin it’s permanent because the pigment molecules remain in the skin.
It’s also the critical reason you must choose a well-trained, knowledgeable and experienced professional.
The color of your permanent makeup will be semi-permanent, requiring a little maintenance because it will fade over the years. How quickly it fades depends on:
- How well you follow our aftercare instructions
- Your lifestyle preferences, e.g., excessive sun exposure or tanning beds, smoking, alcohol intake
- Skincare treatments
- Health conditions, medications
Most permanent makeup procedures need two applications for best looking results. The color you see results from the pigments used plus your skin tone.
During your first application, some tissue swelling and mild bleeding can occur, which is normal. A second application can correct any light areas that retained less color due to tissue changes.
If your healed color leans toward an undesired tone, such as too red, it can be adjusted on the second visit. Our Cosmetic Tattooist Kelly can darken the color and refine the shape with another tattoo application.
Many of our clients schedule a “booster” every few years to refresh their color. It’s important that you return to see Kelly for your touch up because she did the work and has all the color information on your treatment.
